Hypnotherapy Questions
What do you mean by hypnosis?
Hypnosis refers to a state where one’s body is relaxed while the mind remains fully alert. A common misconception: hypnosis is entirely different from sleeping, neither is it the same as sunbathing nor the sleeping condition when one is about to wake up but the body refuses to move. The above scenarios, in fact, link to a condition termed hypnopompic state. When we daydream or reflect on the past, we are actually undergoing mild hypnosis and this may occur on a daily basis!
Am I able to undergo hypnotherapy?
Yes, you can be hypnotized. The only condition where one does not go into hypnosis is when he/she does NOT intend to. Although studies regarding hypnotherapy new york have shown that almost anyone can fall into hypnosis during a session with a hypnotist, many of them believe that the study may not be valid as it only involves limited techniques. With today’s state of modern hypnotherapy where there are numerous techniques, hypnosis is easily attainable.
What is the duration of the treatments?
Some can be done in one session but some may take a while, depending on your condition. Basically, the treatment will be carried out to a point where you feel is enough, and you want to stop. You can refer to the list of workable conditions and while you are at it, please be aware that these are solely for your reference only.
Is there a chance you can make me do anything against my will?
No, this is only possible if you are looking at ‘staged’ hypnotists where people would do ANYTHING for as long as they are in that hypnotized stage. True hypnotism enables you to accept suggestions you desire and reject those that do not appeal to you.
Does this mean I can look back into the past?
This may not happen, as not all treatment sessions necessarily require the use of the Regression technique.
Will I remember the whole process?
Most will not remember the whole thing, but the mind would usually retain all positive feedbacks and information gathered throughout the process since you will need it for your own benefit. Clients usually experience amnesia right after the process, but it is very common and you should not need to worry at all.
Do I need to close my eyes all the time?
You can choose to open them once in a while during hypnosis just to know where you are. However, there is seldom a need to do so.
