What branch of study would you call someone in to divination, hypnotherapy and astrology?

Divination is basically foretelling by various means.

There is no connection between astrology and astronomy. Astronomers would be highly insulted! Astronomy is a science, it’s a study of the skies. Astrology is to do with horoscopes and making predictions about the future based on gazing at the stars, which certainly isn’t a science. It is a form of divination and pure conjecture.

Hypnotherapy is nothing to do with psychotherapy. A hypnotherapist relaxes you to the point where your mind is susceptible to suggestion, and then plants ideas that help to address a behaviour you wish to alter, such as eating or drinking too much. A psychotherapist talks through problems with you while you are awake and alert. Psychotherapy can take years, hypnotherapy can work in just a few sessions.

Hypnotherapy is a recognised therapy, and there is nothing hocus pocus about it. I wouldn’t put it in the same bracket as divination and astrology, which are in the same category as tarot cards and a crystal ball.

You can do a course on divination and astrology, but it would be unlikely you would find one that lumped them together with hypnotherapy!
